Greenwich Peninsula is already a hive of activity - with people living and working here, students studying at Ravensbourne, 7 million visitors a year to The O2 and passengers using the transport interchange. It all adds up to a huge retail opportunity.
There are now new retail units in Peninsula Central ranging in size from 500 sq ft to 16,000 sq ft. That's an opportunity for coffee shops, restaurants, convenience stores, delicatessens, banks, pharmacies, bookshops and estate agents and lots more.
Some retailers have already taken occupancy of their units and opened in 2010 including Tesco, Subway, Wagamama, Costa Coffee, Cafe Rouge and Chiquito.
This is just the start. Steadily increasing footfall and population over the next 15-20 years add up to superb retailing prospects and we’re planning to meet the demand with an eventual total of around 150 units.
