The building of homes for the new community at Greenwich Peninsula represents one of the largest and most prominent development opportunities in the UK today.
This is a long term project - some 15 years - and we will be working with a variety of development partners throughout the various phases of the work, building homes to create a unique place to live.
Bellway Homes
Bellway Homes is one of the UK's top four house-builders and has been selected as the first residential developer for Greenwich Peninsula.
Bellway Homes are building 229 high quality riverside apartments in Peninsula Riverside in the southern part of the neighbourhood. Overlooking the Thames, the apartments are next to Greenwich Millennium Village and close to existing peninsula retail and community facilities. Bellway begin building in 2008 and will be ready for people to move in during 2009.
Endorsing the Peninsula's strong sustainability agenda, the apartments will have an EcoHomes 'Excellent' rating, and a 4 star Code for Sustainable Homes rating. Landscaped green and brown roof terraces together with cascading green facades will encourage local wildlife whilst providing communal spaces for residents. The designs take advantage of the spectacular views to the Thames Barrier and beyond, maximising daylight and providing extensive private or semi-private outdoor space in the form of recessed terraces, balconies and courtyards.
Crest Nicholson PLC
Crest Nicholson PLC, in partnership with Meridian Delta Limited (a joint venture between Lend Lease and Quintain) has entered into an exclusivity agreement to develop a 1.1 acre site on the north-eastern shoulder of Greenwich Peninsula.
Located adjacent to the QE II Quay, to the south of The O2 , the project will provide 296 one, two and three bedroom apartments, together with approximately 5,000 sq ft of retail floor space. A planning application is scheduled for submission in 2007 with work expected to start in 2008.
Peninsula Quays Ltd
Quintain Estates and Development PLC and Lend Lease have established a new development joint venture company, Peninsula Quays Limited.
Peninsula Quays Limited will carry out the proposed development of 3,000 homes in Peninsula Quays - a site of approximately 22 acres in the north west of the peninsula.
Peninsula Quays will re-define urban living. Just minutes from the Tube, with views of Canary Wharf, the neighbourhood’s high quality apartments - with balconies, landscaped gardens and a riverside location - will be one of Greenwich Peninsula’s most desirable addresses.
