About Lawrence Lek

Lawrence Lek is a London-based artist, filmmaker, and musician known for his ongoing series of films, soundtracks, video games, and immersive virtual worlds set within a Sinofuturist cinematic universe. Often featuring interlocking narratives and the recurring figure of the wanderer, his work explores the myth of technological progress in an age of artificial intelligence and social change.

Recent solo exhibitions include NOX, LAS Art Foundation, Berlin (2023); Black Cloud Highway, Sadie Coles HQ, London (2023); Post-Sinofuturism, ZiWu the Bund, Shanghai (2022). Soundtrack releases include Temple OST (Vinyl Factory, 2020) and AIDOL OST (Hyperdub, 2020). Lek is represented by Sadie Coles HQ, London.
