Let go of the outcome and lean into the unknown. This workshop is an invitation to explore what happens when we let uncertainty guide the creative process - using intuitive painting, playful experimentation and embodied exploration.

Led by artists Josie Alexandra and Amy-Rose Edlyn, the session encourages an open, process-led approach to making art. Whether you’re new to painting or looking to break familiar habits, this is a chance to shake off the need for control and allow creativity to unfold.

What to expect:

  • Guided painting exercises that embrace unpredictability.
  • Experimentation with form, colour, texture and flow.
  • Creative tools for navigating uncertainty and overwhelm.
  • Time to connect, reflect and create.

What's included:

  • Materials provided: wooden boards, acrylic paints, brushes and paper.
  • Please bring any favourite tools or materials you’d like to use.
  • Wear old clothes - aprons not provided.

Important information:

  • Open to all levels - no experience needed.
  • This is a safe, supportive space to explore without pressure.
  • Open to people aged 18 and over.
  • Sliding scale tickets are available to keep it accessible for all.

About the artists:

Josie Alexandra is a multi-award-winning artist and founder of Aeaea Studios. Her work spans film and visual arts, exploring relationality, complexity and transformation in uncertain times.

Amy-Rose Edlyn is a multidisciplinary queer artist and curator, whose trauma-informed, neurodiverse practice centres on intersectional queer experience and creative embodiment.
