
Inhabiting Uncertainty on the Canvas
Let go of the outcome and lean into the unknown. This workshop is an invitation to explore what happens when we let uncertainty guide the creative process - using intuitive painting, playful experimentation and embodied exploration.
Led by artists Josie Alexandra and Amy-Rose Edlyn, the session encourages an open, process-led approach to making art. Whether you’re new to painting or looking to break familiar habits, this is a chance to shake off the need for control and allow creativity to unfold.
What to expect:
- Guided painting exercises that embrace unpredictability.
- Experimentation with form, colour, texture and flow.
- Creative tools for navigating uncertainty and overwhelm.
- Time to connect, reflect and create.
What's included:
- Materials provided: wooden boards, acrylic paints, brushes and paper.
- Please bring any favourite tools or materials you’d like to use.
- Wear old clothes - aprons not provided.
Important information:
- Open to all levels - no experience needed.
- This is a safe, supportive space to explore without pressure.
- Open to people aged 18 and over.
- Sliding scale tickets are available to keep it accessible for all.
About the artists:
Josie Alexandra is a multi-award-winning artist and founder of Aeaea Studios. Her work spans film and visual arts, exploring relationality, complexity and transformation in uncertain times.
Amy-Rose Edlyn is a multidisciplinary queer artist and curator, whose trauma-informed, neurodiverse practice centres on intersectional queer experience and creative embodiment.
