Join handbag designer Clara Chu for a playful, hands-on upcycling workshop at Urban Village Fete. Discover creative ways to transform discarded household and industrial items into mini bags, bag charms, or even functional handbags—no machine sewing needed.

This workshop invites you to rethink the value of objects often dismissed as waste. Drawing inspiration from items around your home and recycling bins, Clara will guide you through designing with unconventional 3D materials. From cassette tape cases and playing card boxes to textiles, plastics, and wires, you’ll explore the art of working directly with materials rather than relying on traditional sketching.

Pick a creative design prompt from the “prompt station” or create your own, crafting accessories that tell a story while embracing sustainability.

Clara is a London-based multidisciplinary artist redefining fashion accessories. A recipient of the Young Designer Award from Climate Change All Change, she transforms everyday objects into wearable art, blending pop culture with sustainability and innovation.

Suitable for 14 years and up. Children under 16 should be accompanied by an adult.
