Photo Tips: Advocacy, Allyship & Thriving in the Photography & Creative Industries (online)
In celebration of International Women’s Day 2026 and its theme “Give to Gain”, this online talk organised by The Photography Foundation explores how moving away from gatekeeping and towards shared growth can create stronger, more sustainable creative industries.
Led by photographer Jedidah M., the session draws on lived experience to examine the role of advocacy, allyship, and generosity in building a long-term creative career. By sharing knowledge, visibility, and support, we can strengthen not only individual practices but the wider photography community.
This talk is suitable for emerging and established photographers, as well as commissioners, producers, and anyone seeking to better support others within the creative industries. Attendees will leave with practical, experience-led guidance that can be applied immediately.
This session will cover:
– Practical strategies for navigating and succeeding in male-dominated creative roles, including photography
– Ways to effectively platform female and female-identifying talent at all career stages
– How to strengthen allyship and advocacy within the creative industries
– Real-world insights into freelancing, career sustainability, and long-term professional growth
