Greenwich Peninsula Essential Guide: Where To Go and What To Do with Family and Friends
If your lockdown has been heavy on the home schooling then you’ll be in urgent need of somewhere, anywhere new to exercise your offspring and meet up with some fellow adults. Head for the Peninsula where you’ll find masses of space and something to entertain everyone. Just remember to book in advance and check current opening times to avoid disappointment.
Central Park
Make your way to Central Park, the lush green tree-filled hub of the Peninsula.
Settle in to your surroundings for the afternoon. Bring along a blanket and put the world to rights over a couple of drinks and a picnic, climb trees, kick a football around or simply somewhere to let the kids run around and burn off some energy.
Crazy Putt Adventure Golf
Need to entertain across age ranges? Test those post-lockdown relationships with a competitive round of 18 holes at Crazy Putt Adventure Golf. Alternatively, you can leave them to it and practice your swing solo on the driving range.
The Jetty and Greenwich Peninsula Ecology Park
Find out just how green your fingers are by joining forces with the volunteers tending the floating flower and vegetable garden on The Jetty*.
Foster your kids’ inner David Attenborough with an afternoon wildlife watching at the lakes and meadows of the Greenwich Peninsula Ecology Park*.

Head for heights
Race your way up 33, the beautiful timber folly designed by Studio Weave, and admire the 360˚ view across the Peninsula. Don't forget to check opening times and book in advance! Entry is free. If that doesn’t satisfy your sense of adventure – or your head for heights – try climbing to the top of one of the city’s most famous landmarks with Up at The O2.
When it's time to leave
You can make getting here and away just as fun too: cruise down the river on one of the Thames Clippers (soon available to book via Uber) or jump into one of the cable cars that criss-cross the river on the Emirates Air Line to indulge in a bit of sightseeing along the way.
