From a wildflower meadow to a floating urban garden, take a walk, take a breath and enjoy the space at the Peninsula.

There’s nothing quite like a long stretch of confinement in your own home to make you crave the calming effect of the great outdoors. In London that means searching out new green oases to walk, run and relax in and, as the Peninsula is filled with spaces where you can escape from the city without actually having to leave it, this is the perfect time to explore.

The Tide

Follow The Tide, a part-elevated 1km long walkway that runs down to and along the river, and contemplate the public art installations that pepper it, from a pair of sculptures from Damien Hirst’s Treasures From the Wreck of the Unbelievable to Allen Jones’ towering Head In the Wind.

Find a quiet corner in the sunken garden or along the riverfront where you can lookout over the water and feel your shoulders drop.

Thames Clippers

Continue your journey by taking a less-stressful route home. Jump on board Thames Clippers and feel the fresh air as you make your way eastwards to Woolwich Arsenal or westwards to Greenwich, Canary Wharf, Central London and beyond.

Remember: you must wear a face covering and maintain social distancing rules whilst using public transport. Please wash your hands when possible and use hand sanitiser – TFL

Central Park

Central Park is the tree-filled heart of the Peninsula and the perfect place to start decompressing. Bring a picnic, slow down and settle in for an afternoon of cloud spotting and people watching.

If you want to completely switch off, download one of our playlists from Spotify and plug in your earphones.
